The Court Tavern SE 11 Was a meeting place of the Tai Chi class run by the Landlord and the work local of Louise who thought of the idea of a dead pubs wiki. Classes were at Pedlars Acre Community Hall on Kennington Lane which used to be community centre with a large bar. This fell on hard times in mid Nineties and was reclaimed by Lambeth Council and turned into a housing office. Just the hall remains as public space to be hired out.

Behind the Court Tavern is the remains of the Old Workhouse at Newington Butts. The masters house is complete and now houses The Cinema Museum (not open to the public) and various social welfare units including several specialist health service teams providing services for homeless people and refugees. The old water tower and various outbuilding still exist in a derelict state. No mention of its importance to working class history.

How about a wiki for GB workhouses, sites of old workhouses and relatives of survivors?
