The African Tavern was known as the The African Queen for a while. This pub was converted into living accommadation. 48 Grundy Street, London E14 6DR.

E14 AFRICAN TAVERN: 48 Grundy Street. Allied Breweries. TAYLOR WALKER BITTER, MAINLINE. Pleasant and interesting place with items of historic interest: a plaque tells the story of a slave freed by President Lincoln in 1863 and there's a note about a former window closed to avoid window tax.
